Notice from District Court Chandigarh:
Actor Kangana Ranaut has received a notice from a district court in Chandigarh regarding her movie Emergency which is said to damage the reputation of the Sikh community.

It was requested to file a case against Ranaut because according to the advocate, the movie not only presents a bad picture of Sikhs but also makes multiple unfounded accusations against the community.

Central Board Film Certification says:
According to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), a certificate has not yet been awarded for the movie. As a result before approving the film, the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered the censor board to take Sikh organization's concerns into account.

Sikh groups such as the Shiromani Akali Dal have taken issue with the movie claiming it provides false information and distorts the community.

Ranaut is also the writer and co-producer of the political drama Emergency which was scheduled to open on September 6 but was not approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
